FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need previous climbing experience?
No, every skill level can have a great time at Basin! Coming to Basin with no climbing experience is 100% fine. Expert staff are happy to help. You'll receive an orientation the first time you come. See our first time page for more details.
Can kids climb?
Yes! Climbing is an amazing activity for kids. At Basin, we have a dedicated kids climbing area, specifically designed to foster a love of climbing and to provide a safe space for kids to learn. Kids must be 3 years old to climb at Basin. Our 3- and 4-year-old climbers must have a parent or guardian solely supervising them. Our 5 to 13 year old climbers must be supervised by a parent or guardian, but do not have to maintain the 1 to 1 parent to climber ratio.
Do I need climbing shoes?
No, climbing shoes are not required to climb at Basin. Close-toed athletic shoes are required to climb. However, we highly recommend wearing climbing shoes as they are specifically designed for climbing. We have climbing shoes available to rent as well as a variety of climbing shoes available for purchase
Can I bring a group?
Of course! Climbing is better with friends! For groups larger than 10, please reach out to us at 254-221-6120 or info@basinclimbing.com. We also rent out the gym for private events. Contact lauren@basinclimbing.com for more information on private events at Basin.
